Natascha

Age 31, born in Tilburg on 29 June 1972.

Moved to Singapore with Stefan after having worked with KPN Telecom as an account manager. She has always been dreaming about a journey around the world, but never considered a sailing boat to be the best option. However, totally unexpected for Stefan, one evening she came up with this idea and became more and more enthusiastic as the plan progressed.

Her sailing career started on a Hobie 16 catamaran in the North Sea surf, which is not the easiest sailing school imaginable. She went through a very steep learning curve on Espiritu over a few months and the boat is now second nature to her.

She loves her "homely comforts", so waking up in the middle of the night for her watch duty will never be her strongest point! However you can count on her in any "critical situation” as her persistence always pays off.

She is the manager on board and monitors the schedules to avoid stress............but strikingly, she’s often late herself! She enjoys being "lazy under the sun" which comes in handy during long passages!
